Patinaai Osim
Patinaai Osim and Globalponics are developing a one-acre hydroponic farm to tackle malnutrition in the predominantly Maasai community of Kajiado, Kenya. This community is significantly affected by the harsh impacts of climate change, particularly drought, which leads to food shortages, water scarcity, and loss of livestock and livelihoods. Our hydroponic farm project aims to provide nutrient-dense produce as well as protein through an aquaponic pond installation. Additionally, we seek to share knowledge and skills to promote the expansion of hydroponic farming in the region, thereby addressing chronic food insecurity.

Patinaai Osim is a term Maasai women use to mean “endearment”. It is preserved for those they love; it means “the one who brings me joy,” just like we strive to do for our indigenous communities. Their passion and love come from each bead they sew and every thread. To not just make a beautiful bride but create a better life for their offspring. With their blessing, we advocate for their rights and walk every step to empower them, showing them they are just like the bird that builds beside their Manyatta, single but powerful.
